Post-Operative Care

The Bucks TLC team offers post-operative care to ensure that service users are well cared for and comfortable following surgery that means they require assistance.

As soon as the service user is out of surgery, post-operative care begins. This may include pain management, wound care and managing any side effects of surgery.

A tailored care plan will be created upon discussions with the service user and family. The plan will take into consideration the type of surgery that is being performed, health and medical history, how long the service user is expected to remain in hospital, complete recovery time (to the point that the service user can resume normal activity) and any other needs and requirements that should be considered.

Post-operative care should be arranged prior to the service user going into surgery so the Bucks TLC team can begin care straight away.

Why Post-Operative Care is Important ?

Post-operative care is important for service users, especially those who have undergone more serious operations, as the body may be vulnerable to infections and bleeding. Due to inactivity, the service user may also be at risk of developing blood clots, as well as losing muscle mass and developing respiratory conditions which may result in breathing difficulties.

Whether the service user requires frequent home visits or assisted living services, our team of experienced carers will ensure that the needs of the service user are met. Should there be the need for it, we will utilise our contact list of healthcare professionals to offer further support for the service user.

Support for the Family

As well as offering support for the service user, Bucks TLC is also there for the family – understanding that this can be as stressful for loved ones as it is for the service user. Our team will be with you every step of the way, discussing the service user’s tailored care plan and working with you to ensure that their needs are met.

We will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have relating to the service user’s care, as well as to simply lend an ear to listen to any concerns that you may have. When you choose Bucks TLC as your care provider of choice, you can rest assure that those closest to the service user are not forgotten about.

Our post-operative care plan includes:

Dementia is largely reported among older individuals, but is not caused by age – it can happen to anybody, though it is more commonly observed in 65-year-olds and above.
